Reception Places

Reception places will be offered, via the local authorities, in April 2018. Parents of children who cannot be offered a place, due to their being more preferences made than there are places available, can ask to remain on a waiting list.

The local authority process the applications and appeals for this School. Details of the appeals process, incuding the timetable, can be found at:

In-Year

You can make a formal appeal to an independant appeal panel, for any school that you have applied for. This is a legal process and places are not 'reserved' for appeal panels to offer. The Government has set a limit on the size of infant classes and this means that no Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 class can hae more than 30 children with one teacher.

If your child has been refused a place because there are 30 children in the class, your appeal could only be successful if we have made a mistake or acted totally unreasonably. Only 1 in 5 appeals for Reception are successful because of the infant size law. You can get more information and appeal forms from the local authority Admissions Team.

Nursery Places

Is your child 3 or turning 3 shortly?

From September 2017 we will be offering the 30 hour provision for children in Nursery. This means that you could be getting 15 hours additional nursery provision. Sessions will be every day 8.30 – 3pm. In the first instance children will need to bring a packed lunch and we will then look at introducing school meals at a small cost. There are only a few places left in Nursery so if you know anyone who has a 3 year old that would like to take advantage of the 30 hours please ask them to get in touch.

A reminder also that the school nursery has a qualified teacher and Early Years Practitioner so it is a great time for children to start. It will ensure they are school ready, confident and settled when they start in Reception. Nursery also get to experience day trips out as we have the bonus of having our own minibuses, attend whole school assemblies and events that school have such as the discos.

Contact the school on 01274 677549 or alternatively, pop in to get further information and complete an application form.
