Recent work includes: selecting seating arrangements for the playground, purchased with money made through whole school fund-raising and holding various events to raise funds for our school charity, KIK such as Easter competitions and non-uniform days.

If you can think of other ways to help fundraise please let us know.

School council is also heavily involved in the recruitment of new staff.

As with local and national politics – our school council is elected from a group of nominated individuals from each class. Nominees are encouraged to consider why they would like to represent their class within the school council and what qualities they would bring to the role.

Any child wishing to be a school councillor must promise to:

  • Attend meetings on time.

  • Take responsibility for any preparation they have been asked to do.

  • Speak clearly and confidently in a number of situations.

  • Wear their school council badge proudly at all times when in school.

  • Act as a role model for other pupils.

They then make their presentations to the rest of the class who anonymously make their selections. Each class has the opportunity to vote for two councillors who they would like to represent them on the School Council.

Here are a few comments from our School Council:

"At Reevy Hill I like the teachers because they look out for you and they're caring and I have lots of friends" Caitlin

"I think we always do fun stuff" Skye

"We all have fun at playtimes" Maddison

"I like that we have chickens which give us fresh eggs" Bailey

"I like that we have fun put in to our learning rather than doing boring lessons" Ashton
