Session 1

 

I can form long ladder letters.

 

1. Follow the link below.

2. Go to 'Learn' and watch the short video about long ladder letters.

3. Go to 'Practise' and complete Activity 1

 

Activity 1: Let's create some long ladder letters

  • Create six big boxes on a piece of paper (you can draw these or fold the paper in to six sections). If needed, ask someone to help you do this.
  • Draw a long ladder letter in each box. Try to make them big enough to fill half of each box.
  • Once you're happy with each letter, draw items next to them that start with that letter. For example, t - turtle .

Session 2

2. Go to 'Learn' and watch the video about long ladder letters.

3. Go to 'Practise' and complete activity 2.

 

Activity 2: Long ladder letters at home

Take a look around your home and see how many items you can spot that begin with long ladder letters.

Try and find two items for each letter and write them down.

Here are some examples.

  • l - lock
  • y - yogurt
  • t - television

Extenstion: Go to 'Practise' and Activity 3.

 

Activity 3 - First watch the short video about Christopher Columbus.

 

Based on what you learnt in the video above, write three short sentences about Christopher Columbus in your best handwriting.

Remember to use capital letters at the start and full stops at the end of each sentence.

Once you finished your sentences, circle all of the long ladder letters you've used.
