Miss Shabir's Group

Good Morning! We are going to start today with a quick recap of the addition work that you did last week. Can you work out the answers to the addition questions below? Remember to use your fingers, pictures or objects to help you.

2  +  3  =

6  +  2  =

Today we are going to continue learning about numbers to 20. Watch the YouTube video below and join in with counting to 20.

Number song 1-20 for children | Counting numbers

Did you join in with the counting? Well done! Now look at the number track to 20 below. Can you count to 20 for your grown up, pointing to the numbers as you count?
Picture 1

Now it's your grown ups turn to count! Listen to them as they count to 20. Make sure that they say all the numbers in the correct order! (Grown ups, please make a couple of mistakes as you count and see if your child notices and 'catches you out'. They will love it if they do! For example you might miss out a number so count 1 2 3 4 6 7 8, or you might switch some numbers around so count 10 11 12 14 13 15.)

We are going to continue working on recognising numbers to 20 today by playing a Helicopter Rescue game. Click on the link below to open the game.

When the page opens, please click on Find a Number, Direct, 1 to 20.

Note to parents,

For tomorrow's maths activity you will need a set of number cards from 1 to 20. These can be made fairly quickly and easily, if you don't have any card you could flatten out a cereal box and use the back of it! Thank you.
