In accordance with the New National Curriculum (2014), it is compulsory for all children in Key Stage 2 to learn a foreign language. The aim of this is to enable children to develop a curiosity and deeper understanding of the wider world.
As a result of this, we are continuing to teach French at Reevy Hill, throughout KS2 children will be learning to speak and understand the language. Our aim is to encourage spontaneity of speech, for example through picture and word recognition games and by learning French songs. We continue to strive to equip our children with tools to enable them to become true global citizens.
