Start by doing a quickwrite of the phase 2 sounds that we have learnt. As your adult says a sound, can you write the corresponding letter in your exercise book?
Picture 1
Practice reading the phase 2 tricky words and the first 10 high frequency words that we have been learning in phonics. Remember that these are all words that we need to be able to read on sight, without trying to sound them out. How quickly can you read them?

In your exercise books can you write the following words? Remember to use your robot arms to segment the sounds in the words before you write them down.

Please read the following words out to your child one at a time, without letting them see the words on the screen.

jam, vet, wig, box.

Can you write captions to match these two pictures?

Please ask your child to write the following captions:

a big jet

vet and a pet

Say the caption to them several times, using your fingers to count how many words are in the caption. Then ask them to repeat the caption back to you to make sure they know in their head what it is they are going to write.
